Coronation Street‘s Dee-Dee Bailey comes under scrutiny from Kit Green next week as
the investigation into Joel Deering’s death continues. As Dee-Dee starts to behave strangely
following the shocking news of Joel’s fate, Kit is forced to consider a new suspect in the case.
Monday’s episode (October 14) saw Joel’s body become visible at the top of the river, two weeks after his disappearance.
Kit, who’s overseeing the police investigation, initially targeted Lauren Bolton by questioning her informally about her whereabouts on the night that Joel was killed.
However, a mysterious cliffhanger revealed that Ed and Ronnie Bailey may also be hiding secrets connected to the case.
Next week, Dee-Dee adjusts to some new living arrangements after inviting Lauren to move into her flat with baby Frankie.
Lauren gives Dee-Dee flowers to thank her for her kindness, while Dee-Dee’s brother Michael also praises her caring behaviour.
Later, Lauren’s social worker calls at the flat for a catch-up. Dee-Dee heads off to the kitchen to make tea for everyone, but she’s stopped in her tracks when she finds an old love note from Joel in the cupboard.
Dee-Dee gets upset and rushes out, suggesting that she’s not truly coping well with recent events and the new dynamic of Lauren moving in.
Later in the week, the day of Joel’s funeral arrives and affects many of the Weatherfield residents.
Kit grows increasingly suspicious over Dee-Dee’s distracted behaviour when he crosses paths with her at the café. Is Dee-Dee merely processing the shock of Joel’s death, or does she have something to hide?
